Since accepting the Head Coaching Position in Bismarck in
August 2012 for the Aquastorm Swim Team Jeff lead Aquastorm to
their 5th Consecutive State Championship and a very successful
Short Course Season with Jeff being named 2012-2013 Short Course
Coach of the Year. All 5 senior swimmers are planning on continuing
their swimming careers in college with 4 of them signing with NCAA
Division I Schools. In the past season Aquastorm had 1 Junior
National and 1 Senior National Qualifier, 15 Sectional Qualifiers
and a top 5 finish at Sections with two of Aquastorm's swimmers
receiving high point awards. Jeff had been the head coach
of the West Fargo Flyers since May 2007. Jeff lead the Flyers
to seven consecutive state titles in his first seven seasons in
West Fargo receiving Coach of the Year honors in Long Course of
2007 and Long Course of 2009, Short Course 2012 and Long Course
2012. In this time he has coached numerous state champions,
zone, sectional, junior and senior national qualifiers.
Jeff is a level 3 ASCA coach. He grew up in Bismarck and began
his swimming career at age 13 with the Bismarck YMCA Golden Seals
swim team in 1992. He competed in club swimming through his senior
year as well as the Bismarck High School Swim Team until his
graduation in 1996. From there swam at UND where a shoulder injury
ended his swimming career as an athlete.
His coaching career began in 1998 as an assistant coach for the
Bismarck and Bismarck Century Boys High School Teams. From there he
moved to Fargo and stepped in to the role of the Fargo North Girls
High head coach from 1999 to 2005. As coach of the North
girls, Jeff was named North Dakota High School Coach of the Year
three times and was also names EDC Coach of the Year five
times. From 1999 to 2002, Jeff was also the assistant coach
for the Fargo North Boys Team.
Jeff started coaching club, in addition to HS teams, in
2000. From 2000 - 2006 he was the Head Coach for the Fargo-
Moorhead YMCA Gators winning 5 consecutive state titles. In his 8
seasons with the FMY Gators, Jeff coached 29 National Qualifiers
with 13 in his last season alone. He also coached 4 YMCA
All-Americans, and numerous state champions and record holders. As
the Gators Head Coach, he also received 4 Coach of the Year awards.
During this time coaching the Gators, Jeff has been the ND Zone
Team Head Coach twice and also Assistant Zone Team Coach multiple
times.
Jeff is married to his wife Tara who is a first grade teacher
and have three children, ages 6, 3, and 1.

Coley Ugland
Head Diving Coach
Email
Coley Ugland graduated from Century High School where she dove
for her entire high school career. After high school Coley went to
UND and joined the UND Swimming and Diving Team. In 2004 Coley came
back home to Bismarck and started coaching as an assistant coach
for BHS/CHS girls under Head Coach Emily Vasey. In 2005 she was
hired as the boys head coach for BHS/CHS diving and in 2007 was
hired as the BHS/CHS girls head coach and is currently the head
coach of all four high school teams. Coley has coached many divers
including two who were State Champions and has been a part of four
team state championship teams.
She is married to Bjorn and has two daughters, Corrina 8 and
Petra 5. She enjoys being active, singing, and spending time with
friends and family. Coley is looking forward to helping your
children find a love for the sport of diving and helping them reach
their goals.

Sara M Pfau
Assistant Swim Coach

Sara was born and raised in Bismarck and
started her competitive swimming career at the age of
6. She swam for the Golden Seals club in
Bismarck. Sara swam from 7th grade to her
senior year for Century High School . After high school
she went on to swim for Gustavus Adolphus College in St.
Peter, MN where she was a 5-time
All-American. Sara moved back to Bismarck in 2009 and
currently works at American Bank Center as a Mortgage Loan
Processor. To keep active in the world of swimming,
she spends her summers training for triathlons.

Dagny Knutson
Assistant Coach
Email
Dagny is from Minot, ND and attended Minot High School. She
currently is the ND State High School record holder in 5 events.
She is a 2008 Olympic Trials qualifier and 200IM finalist.
Dagny is a Former American Record Holder in the 400yard IM
and National Age Group record holder. She was a member of the
2008-2009 USA Swimming National Junior Team and a member of the USA
Swimming National team from 2009-2011. At the World Championships
Dagny was the Silver medalist in 2009 and Gold medalist in 2011.
Dagny currently lives in Washburn, ND and attends Bismarck
State College.

Greg Gentzkow
Assistant Coach

Greg is currently 24
years old. He started swimming as a 4th grader for
the West Fargo Flyers swim team. He continued to swim
until he graduated from West Fargo High School in
2006. He competed mostly in the 200 Free, 500 Free, and
100 Back. Since high school Greg has coached for the
West Fargo Flyers, the Moorhead Red Dragons, and now for the
Aquastorm. He rececently graduated from MSU Moorhead and
has a degree in music education. Greg teaches at Northridge
Elementary along with Coach Steels’s wife,
Tara. Greg is married and his wife and him are
expecting there first child at the end of
November.
